A Little Bit Of Literature

Hawk once again dear www surfers ! I've just finished reading an amazing book written by J.W.Pomeroy simply called "The Forest". Let me briefly review the plot to you... The book is a personal history of the Huk Guerrilla struggle in the Philippines, a true story of a man named Bill (an American soldier and author of the book - all in one) and a girl named Celia. Theirs was a love so great that they survived in an army fighting in a jungle for two years. Actually the period described appears to be the time after WW2 (1950-1952). The Forest shows its readers the primitive but devoted to insurrection way of life of the HMB movement in the dangerous rainforest deeps of the Philippino Island - Central Luzon. Although the book is pretty old (my revision was from 1974 :o] ), so that it is properly "infused" by Communist's Ideology, I don't think that it shouldn't interest you. This is a story in which all people can help to make a fitting end. Also if you like, you can have a look at my presentation or doc that will tell you more about it. The book has about 250 pages... recommending !

Descovering The Paradise

After a long time, I managed to create another post. I don't know how many of you have ever been to Rio de Janeiro. Even I haven't... But what I am sure of is that this place is really worth experiencing. The city lies on the eastern South America's seashore, in the mild tropical zone. Nowadays this Brazil ex-capital has about 5.800.000 inhabitants and deserves a title of "Marvellous City". Economically, it is a service industry centre, a key financial centre, and the producer of foodstuffs, building materials, electrical equipment, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, beverages, and textiles. But Rio is mainly outstanding for its leisure facilities. With its world-famous beaches free to all (especially Copacabana), its splendid bay and its wonderful climate, Rio de Janeiro is a city that lives in - and for, the sun. Also it's cultural life is intense and varied. It is not a secret that the carnival, which is celebrated everywhere in Brazil, becomes during the country's hot summer months only in Rio de Janeiro a fantastic spectacle - it is wild, wacky, and frivolous... Of course, these uniquenesses are only a small piece of all "treasures" that the city keeps it's eye on. Therefore, for more details, please check out the presentation related to my Tourist Guide :o] Good luck folks !

My English Studies at TBU

Hi there ! It's me again - but this time coming with something really special :o) . I decided to share my "hard" work that I've done in the four-semestrial subject: Business English so far with you. Besides the other stuff being done it consists of presentations on free-choosed prearranged topics. First of all you can have a look on my tourist guide which describes my hometown as well as its surroundings... Then after familiarizing with economical thinking due to specialized subjects like micro & macroeconomics, management, etc., our student duties at the end of the first year became clear - to describe any company we want - in my case Adidas ... and finally something from the Czech history/ culture - a slide show about the Battle of White Mountain (the so-called "Bílá Hora"). Actually, the last project is a co-operative effort result, it was done also by my fellows; Tomas Mica and Jaromir Spico. Enjoy !!

Hi Everyone & Welcome To My World !

First of all I would like to acquaint you with the place of mine i.e. where I was born. My fatherland is situated just next to the famous High Tatra Hills, and as a romantic site characteristic of quiet hills, calm rivers, bushy forests and of course vivacious, but kind people, I really must be proud of it :o) . Now I won't waste time describing you that site because these are the things we've got browsers to deal with, but what I can offer you (be glad you to check out) is the presentation of Kezmarok - my hometown. This was an accessory to the final exam in the 1st semester. BTW I currently study management & economics at Tomas Bata University in Zlin (see next post).
